Testimonials from our amazing students.
Priyanga is an alumnus of MAD school, Hyderabad. She got into NID Bhopal and chose her preferred specialization. Here is an interview with our student who is happy and wants to share their memories and experiences with us.
“Every class was very different there was always some aspect to it that was different from the previous one”
OUR CLASSROOMS ARE FILLED WITH FUN & CREATIVITY
We believe design is a process. A process to approach problem- solving that applies the cognitive activities of design thinking. We have a dedicated team of designers with savvy design experience to teach you all about design, design thinking and everything you will need to succeed in your design career. At NID Coaching Centre in Hyderabad and Chennai, we strive to provide the highest quality design coaching possible. Our NIDCoaching process starts with individual care, attention todetails, constant communication with our design aspirants. We invite you all architecture aspirants with the best chances in securing your admissions with leading colleges in the country.
NID is a national institution for design education at the graduate and postgraduate levels in India.
If you are a creative person and want to make your career with unique, effective, and memorable designs, NID Coaching in Hyderabad is for you. NID Coaching and a career in design are for anyone willing to go out of their way to create unique designs while problem-solving.
National Institute of Design offers educational courses at graduate and postgraduate levels with 5 faculty streams and 20 diverse design domains.
NID conducts an entrance exam every year in which you will have to perform exceptionally well. When you clear NID DAT (the written exam), you will be eligible to give the NID Studio Test (2nd round). At MAD School, we provide NID Coaching Classes to help you clear the written and studio test to kickstart your design career.
On a scale of one to ten, the exam is rated an 8. So, do not be under the misconception that "It’s just a design exam, how hard can it be?" because it is definitely not a cakewalk. At our NID Coaching Centre in Hyderabad and Chennai, we help students improve their creative skills to excel in their design careers.
You might need around 4 to 6 months to completely understand the syllabus, prepare accordingly, and have enough practice. Our NID Coaching Centres in Hyderabad and Chennai provide short-term and long-term courses to help you prepare well for your design entrance exams.
You can make as many annual attempts as possible until you cross your upper age limit. The NID DAT is conducted once every year, usually in January.
Once you clear the NID Entrance Exam, you still need to clear the second round, i.e., the NID Studio Test. MAD School provides coaching for that too. Be sure to check out our dedicated page on the NID Studio Test for detailed guidance.

NID emphasizes on students' skill sets which include:
Subjects in general ability consist of:
Students who have completed or are appearing for Class 12 can apply for the NID B.Des entrance exam, provided they meet the NID eligibility criteria announced by the National Institute of Design. Graduates can apply for M.Des programmes.
Yes. Students from Science, Commerce, and Humanities backgrounds can prepare for the NID entrance exam. Success depends on creativity, observation, problem-solving, and design aptitude rather than the stream studied in school.
Not necessarily. While drawing is an important skill, NID also evaluates observation, creativity, visualization, storytelling, and design thinking. Many students improve their sketching skills significantly during preparation.
The ideal time is during Class 11, but many students begin in Class 12 and still perform well with focused preparation and regular practice.
Yes. Since both exams test creativity, observation, visualization, and design aptitude, many students prepare for both simultaneously while also practising the exam-specific sections.
The course includes observation drawing, visualization exercises, creative thinking, design aptitude, perspective drawing, human figures, storyboarding, mock tests, previous-year question practice, portfolio guidance (where applicable), and preparation for both DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
The NID DAT Prelims is the first stage of the admission process and typically assesses creativity, observation, visualization, design aptitude, and problem-solving through written and drawing-based questions. Students who qualify move on to the NID DAT Mains, which may include studio-based tasks, interviews, or portfolio-related assessments, depending on the programme and the admission process for that year. Preparing for both stages requires a combination of creative thinking, practical skills, and confidence.
Both NID and NIFT are highly competitive, but they test different skills. NID places greater emphasis on creativity, observation, design thinking, and visual problem-solving, while NIFT evaluates creative ability along with general awareness and logical aptitude. Rather than focusing on which exam is tougher, students should understand the exam pattern and prepare according to its specific requirements. Many aspirants prepare for both exams simultaneously.
Yes. Students receive structured guidance for studio-based tasks, model making, creative problem-solving, material handling exercises, and interview preparation wherever applicable to the current admission process.
Students are evaluated through regular assignments, mock tests, sketching exercises, creative projects, and personalised feedback sessions to help them improve consistently.
Yes. Faculty members provide individual feedback to help students improve observation, proportions, visualization, composition, and presentation skills.
Absolutely. Many students begin with little or no formal design training. The course is designed to gradually build creativity, observation skills, sketching confidence, and design aptitude.
Quality matters more than quantity. Most students benefit from one to three hours of focused daily practice, along with regular mock tests and creative exercises.
MAD School offers different course formats to help students balance board exam preparation with design entrance coaching. Many students successfully prepare for both simultaneously.
Yes. Students and parents can contact MAD School to check the availability of demo sessions, counselling, or classroom interactions before joining.
New students can join throughout the year, and classes begin based on the batch schedule and the student's preparation level. Whether you're starting early or joining closer to the exam, our faculty helps you integrate into a suitable batch and continue your preparation without waiting for a new academic session.
Yes, our online NID coaching classes are packed with fun and interactions. Our online classes are instructor-led and live sessions. We provide the same attention as we would in offline classes. You also get NID books and materials couriered to you when you start the coaching classes.
MAD School offers long-term, one-year, short-term, weekend, and crash courses depending on the student's academic year and exam timeline. During design counselling, our mentors recommend the most suitable programme based on your current class, preparation level, and target entrance exams.

Students should practise a variety of sketching exercises rather than focusing on only one style. Some important topics include:
Human figures and gestures
Everyday objects
Perspective drawing
Memory drawing
Storyboarding
Product sketching
Outdoor scenes
Animals and nature
Hands and facial expressions
Creative composition and visual storytelling
Regular sketching improves observation, speed, and confidence during the exam.
Yes. MAD School provides students with structured study materials, practice sheets, assignments, creative exercises, previous-year question discussions, and mock tests designed to help them prepare for the NID entrance exam. Students also receive regular faculty feedback to strengthen their conceptual understanding and creative skills.
NID Results are usually declared in the month of February or March based on when the exam is conducted.
NID Prelims B.Des results are declared in the third week of March.
NID Prelims M.Des results are declared in the last week of February.
NID Mains B.Des and M.Des results are declared in the third week of May.
Some of the most common mistakes include:
Focusing only on drawing and ignoring design aptitude.
Starting preparation too late.
Not practising under timed exam conditions.
Memorising instead of developing creative thinking.
Ignoring observation and visualization exercises.
Skipping previous years' questions and mock tests.
Not seeking regular feedback on sketches and creative work.
A balanced preparation strategy that combines creativity, observation, sketching, and mock practice is often the most effective.
Yes. MAD School offers flexible weekday and weekend batches to help students balance school, board examinations, and design entrance preparation. Faculty members also guide students on planning their study schedule effectively.
MAD School maintains classroom environments that encourage interaction, individual attention, and regular feedback. Batch sizes may vary depending on the course and centre, but faculty members ensure every student receives personalised guidance throughout the programme.
MAD School is known for its student’s achievements, i.e., the student ranks. We have over thousands of design aspirants, and most of them are now living their design career dreams as they wished, in some of the reputed design colleges in India.
