Mad School...

MAD School started its NID coaching in Hyderabad in 2012, since then we have grown into a family of more than 5000 students across India. Is coaching necessary for NID?

You might be wondering if you really need coaching to attempt the NID entrance exam. 🤔

A brief answer to this question is that NID is a creative exam compared to other entrance exams. You cannot crack the NID entrance exam by studying all day and night. Creative thinking is required when it comes to clearing the NID DAT mains. On the other hand, the main purpose of the NID Studio Test is to evaluate your creativity.

NID ENTRANCE EXAM

Understanding the ins and outs…

The National Institute of Design (NID) is a premier design school in India that was established in 1961. It is the first design school in India to be declared as an ‘Institution of National Importance’ by an Act in the Indian Parliament. NID is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It offers design courses in specializations such as Industrial, Communication, Textile, and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design.

NID offers 2 programs, one undergraduate program and one master's program.

BACHELOR OF DESIGN: (4 Years)

B.Des is an undergraduate program offered by NID and has multiple specializations as listed below. The eligibility to join B.Des course in NID is to pass the higher secondary examination (10+2) in any stream.

To get into one of these programs students have to take up the NID Entrance Exam.

NID Campus Locations

Each NID campus has its own strengths and specializations. For example, the NID Ahmedabad campus is known as the main campus and offers a comprehensive range of design programs in various disciplines, whereas the NID Gandhinagar campus emphasizes more on design research and design for crafts and sustainability. You need to choose a campus where you can discover your full potential.

You do not have to worry about this as we will guide you and help you consider the NID college that you need to choose based on the specialization that you want to pursue.

NID ENTRANCE EXAM PROCESS

1. Fill out the NID 2024 application form 📜
2. Download the Admit Card from the website ⬇️
3. Attend the NID DAT Prelims Exam 🖊️
4. Result Day for NID DAT Prelims Exam 😀
5. If qualified, Attend the NID DAT Mains Exam ✏️
6. Result Day for NID DAT Mains Exam 😀
7. Apply for NID Colleges and appear for the counseling process📍

NID DAT PRELIMS & MAINS

What are these exams?

NID Prelims

• This is the first round of the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). This test is conducted as a written test that consists of objective and subjective questions.
• NID Prelims carry a total of 100 marks and are conducted for a duration of 3 hours.
• Both B.Des and M.Des students have to go through this but the weightage for both differs in the respective examinations.

Mad School provides coaching for NID DAT B.Des and NID DAT M.Des preparation separately.

NID Mains

• Students who have enrolled for B.Des have to attend the second round which is the Studio test. Studio test is conducted offline. The students will be given a practical assessment that needs to be completed in a given time.
• Students who have enrolled for M.Des have to attend the personal interview round.

Mad School provides coaching for the Studio test and NID DAT exam separately. Along with this, we have mock interviews with tips to attend the personal interview.

Students who wish to attend only the NID Mains coaching are welcome.
