NATA Entrance Exam 2024

Understanding the ins and outs…

NATA stands for National Aptitude Test in Architecture. It is a competitive exam conducted all across India for admissions to undergraduate architecture programs. This national-level exam is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA).

NATA exam is conducted to evaluate the candidate's

• Architectural aptitude
• Drawing
• Observation skills
• Critical thinking
• Aesthetic sensitivity

NATA scores are accepted by various architecture colleges across India as a fundamental criterion for admission to their B.Arch. programs.

There are other exams such as JEE2, CEPT, and many more that are similar to NATA that are accepted by particular colleges in India.

NATA Exam Eligibility 2024:

There is no age limit when it comes to attempting the NATA exam.

NATA Exam Pattern 2024:

• Mode of test for NATA exam 2024 is online (Computer-based test).
• Duration of the NATA exam 2024 is 3 hours.
• The NATA exam has one section that tests general aptitude.
• Total marks awarded for the NATA exam is 200.
• Total number of questions asked in the NATA exam is 125.
• There are no negative markings in the NATA exam 2024.

The NATA exam pattern was changed in 2020.

Even though the COA (Council of Architecture) changes the exam pattern periodically, there was a major change in the NATA exam pattern for the 2020 batch.

The new NATA exam pattern focuses more on the aptitude section and the drawing section was removed from the exam. These changes were made to make the exam more aligned with the present curriculum and learning outcomes of the B.Arch program. Another objective of these changes was to make the test more accessible to students from various disciplines, whether science or commerce.

NATA 2024 Attempts:

Students are allowed to appear for up to 3 NATA tests.

• Case 1:
  • If the candidate appears for 1 test, that particular score will be taken into consideration.
• Case 2:
  • If the candidate appears for 2 tests, the best of 2 scores will be taken into consideration.
• Case 3:
  • If the candidate appears for all 3 tests, the average of the 2 best scores will be taken into consideration.
