The National Institute of Fashion Technology, also known as NIFT, is a premium institute in India for fashion education established in 1986. NIFT Institute was set up under the guidance of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India (A statutory institute governed by the NIFT Act 2006). NIFT has its presence all across India with 18 campuses in major cities including Chennai, Vizag, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and many more.
NIFT offers 5 programs, of which 2 are undergraduate programs and 3 are master programs.

1. What is CAT and GAT in NIFT?
Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) are two components of the NIFT entrance exam. These tests are Computer Based Test (CBT).
CAT: It is a 2-hour long exam that tests your creativity, problem-solving skills, and visualization abilities.
GAT: It is a 2-hour long exam that tests your quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and language skills.
The total number of questions asked in these sections varies from 120 to 150 and depends on the program that you select in NIFT. Both sections have negative markings. The cut-off score for this section varies from year to year, based on the difficulty of the exam.

2. Are NIFT placements good in Vizag campus?

5. What are the scholarships offered at NIFT Vizag?
These are the scholarships that are offered in the NIFT Vizag Campus:
“SARTHAK” NIFT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEME” - This scheme provides financial assistance to students who are from economically weaker backgrounds, but have good academic merit.
“UDAAN” - This is a means-cum-merit scheme for foreign studies. This scheme provides financial assistance to students who are from an economically weaker background and have good academic merit and wish to continue their studies abroad.
