The National Institute of Fashion Technology, or NIFT, is an esteemed institution for fashion studies in India that was founded in 1986. NIFT was set up under the guidance of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India (a statutory institution controlled by the NIFT Act of 2006). Having 18 campuses spread across India, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and many others.

NIFT offers 5 programmes (2 undergraduate programmes and 3 master's programmes).

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

• Bachelor of Design (B.Des), 4 years
• Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.Ftech), 4 years

MASTER PROGRAMS

• Master of Design (M.Des), 2 years
• Master of Fashion Technology (M.Ftech), 2 years
• Master of Fashion Management (MFM), 2 years

To get into one of these programs students have to take up the NIFT Entrance Exam.
