A guidance on Counselling Process post NATA/JEE-2 Exams
20th July 2018: The only reason for me to write about the counselling process post NATA /JEE2 examinations is to guide any a student towards information and the process involved in the same. Unlike the engineering or medial counselling, the process for B.Arch./ B.Planning remains a different process. I shall try and explain what should be the steps that shall help you for an informed opinion. It should also be understood that COA, the regulatory body that conducts NATA does not conduct counselling process.
Before we get into the counselling process lets looks at the top 10 B. Arch colleges in India.
It is estimated that there are about 340 B. Arch colleges in India, which 100 colleges come under government aided or government colleges.
Seats towards IIT require students to clear both JEE-paper 1 & JEE advanced exams. The B. Arch courses in IIT are offered by IIT RORKEE, & Kharagpur. The candidates are also required to pass the Advance Aptitude Test conducted only at the 7 zonal IITS. The seat allotment shall be done on the category wise All India Rank in the JEE Advanced. The test consist of 1 paper of 3 hours duration
The Process: All candidates who have declared qualified JEE Advanced should register with JoSAA (The Joint Seat Allocation Authority) for seat allocation. For more details visit: https://josaa.nic.in
JEE Exam Dates
Exam Date: First week of April
Eligibility: Passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics

Admission towards securing seats for NIT &SPA requires you to clear the JEE 2 exams. Admissions are determined according to your ranks secured in the exams.
The process: All candidates who have cleared the JEE2 exams are required to register with JoSAA (The Joint Seat Allocation Authority). JoSAA, has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 100 Institutions

National Aptitude Test In Architecture is conducted by COA (Council of Architecture), the regulatory body that governs the Architects in India. A minimum of 50 % marks (aggregate) are required for obtaining the admission. A merit list is then prepared on the basis of marks obtained In class 12 &NATA & admission granted to B. Arch colleges in India. It is also to be noted that candidates must have obtained the required pass marks as demanded in each part.
The Process: All candidates who have cleared NATA are supposed to register themselves for the counselling process. Please find below the states that have a centralised process of Counselling. Students are requested to visit the web sites regularly in order to update themselves on important dates:
